Accessing this site - browser compatibility

This site has been tested and found to be fully functional with Mozilla Firefox on both Microsoft and Linux opertaing systems, Apple Mac Safari, Thunderbird, Google Chrome, and MS Windows Internet Explorer versions 7 and 8.

The site also works with Internet Explorer version 6.0, though you may get an error message when viewing the Photo Gallery and one or two other pages. This does not seem to affect the information that is displayed - just click on "No" when asked if you want to Debug and everything proceeds as normal. Irritating, but a well known problem with Joomla! and early versions of Internet Explorer.

You can avoid the error messages in Internet Explorer 6 by changing one of the Browser settings. Proceed as follows....

Click on the "Tools" button in the toolbar at to top of the browser display

Select "Internet Options"

Select the "Advanced" tab

Scroll down to the entry entitled "Show friendly HTTP error messages" and make sure the box is unchecked

Click on "Apply"

However... RSS feeds from this site will not work with Internet Explorer 6 - see separate article on this topic in the "Accessibility" section.

There are more serious problems with Internet Explorer version 5.5 and lower - some of the material in the main column of the display is shifted to the bottom of the screen. I'm not proposing to try and fix this.

The site has not yet been tested with versions of the Netscape browser
