ASYC is registered to provide RYA approved training in powerboat handling and regularly runs courses supervised by a team of registered instructors.

The club also runs a junior teaching programme, supported by volunteer members. However this is not RYA approved and offers no formal certification on completion.

ASYC currently has no priovision for delivering sailing courses to adults. However, Aberdeen City Council provide a number of RYA approved courses:
