*** REGISTRATION DEADLINE - 28 FEBRUARY 2010 ***  Ahoy there, Junior Sailors! Time to sign up, there are many great plans afoot for this year. The 2010 Junior sailing session will be even greater and better than last year. Lessons are to commence straight after the Easter holidays. There will be two different sessions: "Learn to Sail! and "Race Training".    "Learn to sail": sessions will take place on Saturdays. The 5 sessions will run from 17th April to 22nd May (with exception to the May day bank holiday) from 10 to 12:30, culminating in the Junior regatta on 30th May. This is an introduction to sailing and is aimed at beginners. Quite e few of last years beginners no doubt could do with a repeat experience if they would like to. All lessons will be held at Loch of Skene. If kids are keen thereafter and progress they can potentially join the more advanced group after the regatta at Skene. There is a "boat contribution" of £50 per child. "Race training" sessions are for kids who know how to sail a triangle. This is aimed at getting kids to race and run from 10 to 12:30 unless it's a monthly regatta weekend. The the kids will join this, though with a separate start and smaller course. These lessons run on Sundays starting 18th April to 30th May (Junior Regatta date) expect for the May day weekend. The fleet will then move to Stonehaven with further sailing there on 13th to 20th June. These sessions will be led by Victoria Park and Lynne Skinner. We will be using our Optimist and Topper fleet.  Parents wanting to sail with their children in their own Mirror, Pico or Feva are also welcome. There will be a boat contribution of £50 per child (and £50 per boat if attending in a double hander).  After the summer holidays things will get even more exiting. We hope to take a large travelling group to Peterhead regatta on 22nd August (TBC). Lessons will then continue weekly in Stonehaven until 12th October, culminating in our first ever extra-county traveller to Loch Tummel on 18/19th October. There will be an additional contribution for this second set of activities.
