Stonehaven webcam Aberdeenshire Council maintain this really useful webcam overlooking Stonehaven harbour.
You can pan the camera around through a number of pre-set views. The Bervie Brae view looks directly at the ASYC dinghy park south of the harbour area, whilst the Old Pier view shows the slipway in the middle harbour.

Wavenet Defra and the Scottish and English Environment Agencies in fund a network of waverider buoys moored around the UK, each feeding live data back to shore. The swell and wave height data from each buoy, together with 36h forecasts, are available at this website. Currently, the closest buoy to Stonehaven is in the Firth of Forth, but a buoy has recently been laid off Aberdeen beach and hopefully this will be online soon. Wavenet data are probably the best indication of liklely swell conditions in east coast inshore waters.
It seems to be a bit variable where this link enters the Wavenet site for some reason. If you arrive at the Wavenet frontpage, select 'Basic Data', which will give you a map of waverider buoy locations. Then click on the arrow for the Firth of Forth buoy to get detailed data.
Click on the "Forecast vs observed graphs" tab in the table to get the most useful display.
